Host City: Bangkok
The capital and most populous city in The Land of Smiles welcomes the North American Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN) Southeast Asia this June! Bangkok is a premier venue for international meetings and conventions, and is the country’s commercial and cultural centre, having hosted events such as the Asian Games in 1998 and witnessed the signing of the ASEAN Declaration which founded the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in 1967. Bangkok has often been lauded as the world’s most visited city, with over 21 million international visitors in 2018. NAIMUN SEA is thrilled to spread its values of academic excellence to the “City of Angels” this summer.
Host venue: united nations conference centre (UNcc)
NAIMUN SEA is excited to be at the United Nations Convention Centre (UNCC) Bangkok this summer! Located in the capital of Thailand, this five-story building is sited on more than eighteen thousand square meters of land in proximity to government offices and has hosted members of the royal family and dignitaries from all over the world. The UNCC Bangkok also houses the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). With over 15 meeting rooms, including the 900-seater UNESCAP Hall, there could not have been a more appropriate venue to host the inaugural edition of NAIMUN Southeast Asia.
